History

Advanced Cerametrics, Inc. (ACI) was founded in 1947 and built its business producing ceramic parts used in textile manufacturing. With its experience in fiber production and ceramics along with a significant amount of research, the company has been able to invent and evolve its technology to make spun ceramic fiber.

ACI pioneered technology to manufacture ceramic in a flexible fiber form. This technology inexpensively captures the positive properties of ceramics (electrical, thermal, chemical, mechanical) and eliminates the negatives of brittleness and weight. This allows ACI to make specialty materials for a broad range of markets and applications.
